Hope Gangloff’s Ceramics captures a fleeting, intimate moment that feels like a still from a home video or a hazy memory. The tilted shelf, at an off-kilter angle, creates a sense of motion—almost as though the viewer is catching a glimpse while passing by. The collection of cups, stacked precariously without clear order, are from Hope’s studio and her personal mug collection. Each piece carries its own story, from trinkets collected on trips to a ceramic coconut planter that has appeared in earlier paintings. Rendered in Gangloff’s signature vibrant palette, these cups burst with color, transforming ordinary objects into vivid expressions of personality and warmth. This scene invites the viewer into a moment that feels both deeply personal and shared, like a fragment from the artist’s own memory.
