Ripples, six rods made of wire rope suggest ripples spreading across the surface of water. Their curves and spirals embody a desire to capture nature's inherent rhythm, reflecting not just the motion of water, but also the flow found in the natural world. Their linear arrangement draws on the symbolic power of African walking sticks (used practically to protect and support, symbolically as signs of wisdom and our connection to the earth) Hassinger's work emphasizes both the strength and the fluidity that exists in the bonds between humans and their surroundings. These twisted forms are not merely representations of water’s ripple effect, but of the importance of seeking a balance between movement and stillness to find an equilibrium and harmony in life.Exhibitions
